Client Agreement and Health Screening

This Client Agreement applies when you receive online coaching, challenge support, app-based fitness guidance or related services through Balance.
Plain English version: Balance can help with training, nutrition habits, accountability and progress tracking, but it is not medical care. Be honest about your health, train within your ability, and get medical clearance if there is any risk.
1. Scope of Coaching
Balance provides general fitness coaching, habit support, nutrition education, progress tracking and accountability. Coaching may include workouts, check-ins, meal or habit guidance, reminders, app use and messaging with Shannon.
Balance does not diagnose, treat or manage medical conditions. Nutrition guidance is general and does not replace advice from a doctor, dietitian or other qualified health professional.
2. Health Screening and Disclosure
Before starting paid coaching, you may be asked to complete a health screening. You agree to provide accurate and current information about:
- injuries, pain, illness, pregnancy, medical conditions or surgery history
- medications or advice from health professionals that may affect training or nutrition
- exercise experience, limitations, equipment access and goals
- any change in health that occurs during coaching
3. Medical Clearance
You should get medical clearance before starting or continuing if you have any health concern, injury, chronic condition, pregnancy, unexplained symptoms, or if a health professional has advised caution with exercise or diet changes. Balance may require clearance before providing or continuing coaching.
4. Training Risk and Your Responsibilities
Exercise and nutrition changes involve risk. You agree to:
- train safely, use correct equipment and stay within your ability
- stop immediately if you feel chest pain, dizziness, faintness, sharp pain, severe shortness of breath or other concerning symptoms
- avoid exercises that feel unsafe or aggravate pain
- tell Shannon if a program does not suit your body, schedule, equipment or medical situation
- seek urgent medical help in an emergency
5. Communication and Response Times
Balance is an online service. Coaching support may happen through the app, email, social DMs or other agreed channels. Response times can vary. Balance does not provide emergency support or 24-hour clinical monitoring.
6. Progress, Results and Expectations
Balance will provide support and guidance, but results are not guaranteed. Progress depends on consistency, health status, sleep, stress, nutrition, training history, adherence and other factors outside Balance's control.
7. Photos, Videos and Form Checks
You may choose to upload progress photos, meal photos or exercise videos. These are used to provide coaching and app features. Balance will not use identifiable photos, videos, testimonials or screenshots for marketing without your permission.
8. Privacy Consent
By using Balance coaching and submitting health, fitness or progress information, you consent to Balance collecting and using that information as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Pausing, Refusal or Termination
Balance may pause, refuse or end coaching if there is a safety concern, non-payment, harassment, misuse of the service, failure to provide required health information, or a need for medical advice outside the scope of coaching.
10. Agreement
By starting coaching, joining a paid plan, ticking an acceptance box or continuing to use coaching features, you confirm that you understand and accept this Client Agreement.
